oh the colour...

I know I've posted alot about bedrooms before but couldn't let this go by without a mention. The style and colours are just gorgeous.

nifty sandpit...

You'll see that I've been busy thinking of entertaining the kids, must be because we have just finished school holidays! It has been wonderful to have them at home though, it's been a nice balance of outings and staying home. I think this sandpit has been cleverly thought about, imagine just pushing it under the deck when playtime is finished.

kids play...

Just seen this play room in Living Etc this morning and I can't get it out of my head. A chalkboard wall is every kids dream, ever wanted to draw on the walls when you were a kid? And the colours of the rug and stools work well with the black wall and shelving with baskets. My daughter has seen the push along dog and wants "that exact one"!

kids play continued...

Recently I was thinking about outdoor play for the kids. Should we build a treehouse, a fort or a cubby house, these are a few that I have found that sparks their imagination.

the shed...

Times have changed from the old humble tin shed. We are thinking of building one in brick then render to match the house, but seeing these from Modern-Shed has made me think again. Lots of ideas for use, perhaps a backyard studio? They look great.

the wardrobe...

pic from coco+kelley

Well, just thought I'd check my emails and RSS feeds and you know, one thing leads to another. I'm writing this post about an hour after I thought I'll be 5 minutes! Check out this wardrobe. My eyes just about popped out! Oh to have wardrobe organised like this, mine is chaotic to say the least. So with my bedroom theme going on, I have been tinkering on our rooms and purging and re-organising the children's rooms. So with inspiration from here I'm going to start tomorrow!!

black and white floors...

In my next home I would love to try white painted floorboards with black and white for the kitchen. These are a few I have found recently and each has something that appeals to me, the small stool for the kids to stand on, the book shelf on the side and the colour filled shelves.

eclectic veranda...

The weather is stormy today and I'm thinking, as usual, about what I'll be doing in the warmer months. This is my sort of veranda, wooden balustrades, tin roof, antique lantern finished with a quirky modern table setting. The big wicker basket would be great to hold the kids balls and other outdoor stuff.

mmm sleep...

I dreaming of sleeping in some stylish rooms...

oh sleep...

You see a theme here? I must be subconsciously thinking of  sleep! Yes I do have three young children so there is not one night that goes by without someone needing Mummy between the hours of 11 and 5.30am. Always the baby but can be all three some nights! It seems that every where I look I see beautiful bedrooms, from country style to modern, both for kids and grown ups. So I'm going to get this out of my system and post my favourites over the next couple of days and then I might start a bit of redecorating!

kitchen bench seating...

We have a small dining area off our kitchen and I've been experimenting with tables. We have had a large long table, a thinner shorter table and currently a round 4 seater which can extend to 6. I'm still getting used to a round table, my place mats don't go well and the kids tend to slide off sideways (this probably comes back to table manners!) Always on the lookout, I've spotted these eating areas recently and I must say they have definitely caught my eye. The under seat storage idea is fantastic as we don't have alot of other storage in the house and I could squeeze a bit more room to move around. These are a few of my favourites.

a bumbo...

I've just got a Bumbo baby seat for my youngest. These are great, so handy and portable. He loves that he can sit upright and do things with his hands, see his world from a different position. I now realise I should have got one for my others as he loves it.

aprons...

I'm loving aprons at the moment. There are some wonderful prints out there. I have a few that have been lost and found in the linen cupboard and have recently been revived! I had forgotten how handy they were but mine are quite plain, so I'm going to expand my collection. These are a few of my favourites.

a desk...

I'd like a desk like this one, not too perfect, not too messy, just nicely organised. A great inspiration board above and a lamp that's not a desk lamp.

party pom poms...

Aren't these pom poms great for a party? My little one is turning 1 soon so there's a great excuse to make these. This has got me started, my mind is now not going to stop. It all starts with one picture and then it leads to a sleepless night!

twin beds...

While I'm on the subject of Jenny Lind, here are some twin beds. My two girls are sharing a room and I'm constantly looking for inspirations in decorating their room. I'm going to put this one in my ideas folder.

gorgeous nursery...

This little nursery is just gorgeous. I love Jenny Lind style cots and the curtains made from Liberty print fabric. This apartment belongs to Joelle Hoverson the crafty owner of Purl Soho. Check out more of her apartment here and buy the Liberty print here.

ricotta doughnuts...

Mmmm. I found these doughnuts quite by accident this afternoon. Just having some time to read my favourite blogs today has been good therapy after a busy week, I'm going to try these.

weekend wishes...

Wouldn't this be a nice way to begin the weekend? A brunch by the pool followed with an afternoon swim. Shame our weather is too cool this time of the year. Love the blow up doughnuts in the pool.
